Note: This program is a Prison Education Program and is only offered at the Green Rock Correctional Center.
Program Description:
The Career Studies Certificate in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Fundamentals provides the practical experience & knowledge required to perform preventative maintenance on HVAC/R equipment. Topics include refrigeration and air conditioning systems, basic electricity, circuits, and controls.
Program Coordination: 15 of the 18 credits in the career studies certificate (except for BLD 110) count towards the AC & Refrigeration Servicing certificate and the AC & Refrigeration Diploma.
Industry Certifications: Students will have the opportunity to sit for the OSHA 10 and EPA certifications.
Program Outcomes: Graduates will be able to:
- Apply skills to perform maintenance on air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Apply knowledge to install air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Sit for the EPA Certification.
